Big Ben is a consolidated property, created through the amalgamation of Dry Acheron and Big Ben stations. It spans extensive hill country and features modern, intensive finishing systems supported by irrigation. Dry Acheron was the second farm to be aquired and Big Ben was the more recent addition.
Since their acquisition, both Big Ben and Dry Acheron have undergone substantial irrigation developments, reflecting the Erdman family’s continued investment and dedication to the primary sector in New Zealand. These developments have transformed both properties into industry-leading operations and have significantly increased profitability and production of the wider business. The purpose of Big Ben is to provide the capability to finish our own animals, completing the cycle of a fully integrated farming operation.
The cadet quarters, cook shop, and office/classroom are all based at the Big Ben yard, positioning it as the central hub of the entire operation.
